Introduction to MS Excel
Microsoft Excel is a powerful and easy-to-use business information tool and there probably does not exist a single office where it is not in use. No employee can be fully functional in a business environment without the knowledge and skills to take advantage of the basic features of Microsoft Excel. Whether an employee is required to manipulate and present information himself, or whether he or she only needs to be able to access and reproduce information on the spreadsheet, attending this course is an absolute necessity.
On completion of this course the incumbent should be able to:
- Understand the principles of spreadsheets.
- Create, open and save spreadsheets.
- Produce a spreadsheet from a given specification.
- Edit a spreadsheet.
- Format a spreadsheet.
- Check spelling in a spreadsheet.
- Work with basic formulae
- Make a spreadsheet look professional and presentable

This course assumes that the user understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer. Students should be comfortable using the keyboard, mouse, and Start menu. Understanding and experience with printing and using a web browser is an asset, but not required. No previous experience with other versions of Excel is necessary.
